Cask & Barrel

When harvest is over the wineries of Prince Edward County open their doors for Wassail, a festival of singing, feasting, and imbibing. Many wineries offer mulled wine as a treat for roaming carollers, as well as seasonal comfort foods and holiday treats. There are bus tours available through Wassail in the County or explore at your own pace with a self-guided tour.

  • Outlet Food Co. will be at Trail Estate Winery serving a red wine braised beef Cottage Stew with a side of bannock bread made with rendered duck fat and fresh thyme. Roast your own bannock over a roaring campfire and taste new release wines like Baco Nuvo and Pet Nat.
  • Vegan winery Karlo Estates will have Rooted Eats by JERKebago and vegan cheese from Caju Winds.
  • Visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Traynor Vineyard, then treat yourself to a taste of Mexico from Guapo’s Cantina.
